Chris Haston is a great photographer who happens to ride around town with a 3-foot statue of the Virgin Mary in his car. She is his muse, and Chris has created an entire series of photos featuring Mary in various settings. The truly unique photos Chris makes are slow-shutter speed, long exposure shots that create in-camera art. No Photoshop touch-ups, everything you see in the final picture happens in the span of 30 seconds. Chris describes his unique style and what inspires him as hes Riding with Mary.

Excellent profile pod. And, perhaps the best camera work I've seen in a pod so far. Your pod really seems to be perfectly paced to Chris' narration which I found drew me in more and more as the story progressed. What a truly unique story - and what a talented artist! I really like the music in this podcast also. Riding with Mary - it drew me in b/c of the title and b/c of the odd concept of shooting photographs with the virgin mary in them - I really wanted to know why SHE was his inspiration, and you did a fantastic job of unveiling those reasons, over the course of the podcast. Greenlight! Go!

What a fascinating concept for artistic expression! I am very intrigued by religious symbolism and art and so this idea of "Riding with Mary" is of great interest to me. Chris is very articulate and eloquent in his explantions of his art and process. Very entertaining and I say GREENLIGHT BABY!

what a fantabulous pod- you have all of the elements here: an engaging story, fascinating art, unusual technique, high production values... and on and on. I really enjoyed watching him light the statue with a flashlight- whoda thunkit? I really love night photography so this was especially interesting for me. Great work all around. ::greenlight::

Simple but revealing. A beautiful documentary and beautiful images. It's kind of intense to see what inspires people and where their passion goes when the world for them goes off its axis. Haston's rescue of this icon and his connection with 'her" takes us on a very different artistic journey. The light stuff is rad, too. Thanks. You got my greenlight.
